BLACK SABBATH Bassist GEEZER BUTLER On Rumoured Farewell Tour - “I'd Love To Keep Going, I'd Desperately Want To Keep Going Before I Kick The Bucket”

Black Sabbath won the Lifetime Achievement award at this year's Ivor Novello Awards, held at London, England’s Grosvenor House yesterday (Thursday, May 21st) to honour achievements in songwriting and composing.

Guitarist Tony Iommi picked up the trophy, along with estranged drummer Bill Ward and bassist Geezer Butler, and confirmed the heavy metal band would embark on their "final tour" next year.

Speaking to NME at the awards, and discussing how Ozzy Osbourne recently said that the band will embark on a full farewell tour and release their final album in 2016, Geezer Butler claimed that he had "absolutely no idea" if the rumoured tour would actually happen.

"I'd love to keep going, I'd desperately want to keep going before I kick the bucket”, Butler said. His bandmate, Tony Iommi added: "It'd be lovely to do a last tour, it'd be really nice to do that.”

The Ivor Novello Awards, named after the Cardiff-born entertainer Ivor Novello, have been presented annually in London by the British Academy of Songwriters, Composers and Authors (BASCA) since 1955.
