hot flashes news

Well, it probably wasn't too difficult to figure out ... we have major respect for this band and to see their career revitalized in the past few years and truly embrace the metal scene is inspiring to bands/fans all over the globe. And it seems Mr. Mustaine can do no wrong - 2007's United Abominations also was the BW&BK; scribes' top pick of the year! And to top things off, Megadeth will be bringing their new album to European stages next year with their other comrades in the Big Four - METALLICA, SLAYER and ANTHRAX. Mustaine is snarling from ear-to-ear!

So, a BIG CONGRATS to Dave Mustaine (lead vocals, guitar), Shawn Drover (drums, percussion), James Lomenzo (bass, backing vocals) and Chris Broderick (guitar, backing vocals) for delivering the goods in 2009!

So, the moment we've all been waiting for! Here is the Brave Picks 2009 Album Of The Year!

Double-bass drum roll please ....

#1 - MEGADETH – Endgame (Roadrunner)

BraveWords.com scribe Dom Lawson raved about the album in his review: "The easiest way to explain exactly how good Megadeth’s twelfth album is to say what it doesn’t do, rather than what it does. Endgame crushes everything else released in the name of heavy metal in 2009 because it doesn’t fail to meet expectations. It doesn’t pretend to be a return to the good old days. It doesn’t miss out any of the stuff that fans of the band are desperately hoping will be significantly represented. It doesn’t sound like the work of a band that have lost their cojones or their grasp of what metal is supposed to sound like, feel like or look like. It doesn’t cave in to the overfed egos of its creators and end up sounding like a compromise or a sloppy rehearsal given a bit of post-production gloss. Most of all, it doesn’t do anything except be a brilliant Megadeth record. Because, after all, that is all that a band as important, enduring and well-respected as this should be doing. Endgame is an album full of brilliant songs."
