COB frontman, guitarist, and mastermind Alexi Laiho commented on the new album: “We are close to putting the finishing touches on the new COB record I Worship Chaos and as much fun (but most importantly raw, literally bloody knuckled hard work) it has been making it, I’m more than happy and even more anxious to share this chaos with the rest of the world. So people, put your shades and helmets on, it will get very dark and it might hurt, in a perfect COB fashion of course!”
Returning to Finland’s Danger Johnny Studios (located at a top secret, undisclosed location in Helsinki) to record I Worship Chaos, the album was produced by COB and Mikko Karmila, who worked with the band on their earlier albums Halo Of Blood, Hatebreeder, Follow the Reaper and Hate Crew Deathroll. The album was mixed and mastered at Finnvox Studios in Helsinki, Finland.

On September 15th, Children of Bodom frontman Alexi Laiho took part in a fan-fuelled Reddit AMA session. The complete transcript of the Q&A can be viewed here. An excerpt is available below:
Q: I was wondering that why don't you create more heavily melodic and neo-classical stuff like in album Hatebreeder?
Laiho: "It just wore off naturally, it wasn't conscious. Plus, it started to annoy me that a lot of bands were doing the same thing."
Q: What inspired you guys to cover the Creedence Clearwater Revival song "Looking Out My Back Door"?
Laiho: "Most of us grew up listening to Creedence Clearwater Revival, and the Big Lebowski was on high rotation during the recording of the album."
Q: I was wondering if you are going to make a new live dvd?
Laiho: "We were planning on it but it didn't happen because no one really wants to release live DVD 'cause they are expensive to make if you want to make a good one. Hopefully one day."
On August 25th, Children Of Bodom frontman Alexi Laiho and keyboardist Janne Wirman held a live online chat with the fans via YouTube. Check out the hour long Q&A session below:
