CORROSION OF CONFORMITY Members Discuss New Vinyl Reissues; Video Streaming

Prosthetic Records' previously announced limited-edition reissues of the classic albums Blind (1991) and Deliverance (1994) from metal legends Corrosion Of Conformity will hit the shelves of your local record shop on January 27th.

For further details on the reissues, check out the below video featuring C.O.C. drummer Reed Mullin and lead guitarist Woody Weatherman:

Both releases, currently available for pre-order through the Prosthetic webstore, are limited to 1,000 copies each. In addition to the reissues, new editions of vintage C.O.C. merch designs from the era are now available! Check them out at this location.

Marking its first ever vinyl release in North America, 1991's Blind, originally issued by Relativity Records, is currently being offered on gatefold, 180-gram double vinyl in three variants; purple (approx. 700 copies, available in-store and online), black (approx. 200 copies, online only) and clear (approx. 100 copies, online only). The reissue also includes three bonus tracks from 1995's Columbia Records re-release of the album, along with a color lyric insert and liner notes from acclaimed music journalist Chris Dick.

Blind showcased the band's musical progression toward a more streamlined, metallic thrash sound from that of their previous crossover past. The record saw the addition of guitarist Pepper Keenan and featured the anthems "Dance Of The Dead" and "Vote With A Bullet".

The 14-track album (originally released by Columbia) includes the timeless classics “Albatross” and “Clean My Wounds”, both of which cracked the Top 20 at US rock radio.

After being out of print for nearly two decades, Deliverance is now available on vinyl once again, with a new-and-improved gatefold jacket. Corrosion Of Conformity are reuniting with guitarist/vocalist Pepper Keenan for UK and European dates. Other than a few surprise appearances, this will be the first time Keenan has toured with the band since 2006. This will also be the first time the Deliverance lineup of the group has played together since 2001.

C.O.C. recently emerged from hibernation as a trio and released 2012's eponymous album and 2014's IX to wide acclaim, but many have been eagerly awaiting the return of Pepper Keenan.

The band were originally an influential hardcore punk/heavy metal crossover act before reaching critical success with a new lineup on 1991's Blind album. That trajectory continued with wider appeal as Keenan took over as primary vocalist on Deliverance (1994) and Wiseblood (1996). These two recordings in particular fused the raw energy of the previous albums with some great strides forward in classic rock inspired songwriting and more spacious production and execution, which were often copied but rarely equalled.

This juggernaut gained mass and momentum with relentless touring alongside Metallica, Clutch, Eyehategod and many more. Eventually following In The Arms Of God, 2005, Keenan focused all energy on his hometown band, Down. Until now, that is.

Recent internet chatter on the subject of a reunion turns out be true.

Asked about future plans, bassist Mike Dean said, "This is all about going out and celebrating some of the classic material, and at the same time it's about tuning up the chemistry and the energy to possibly create a new album or two with this lineup."
