DECAPITATED Members Arrested In Santa Ana On Suspicion Of Kidnapping

According to the Seattle Times, Polish death metallers Decapitated - Michal M. Lysejko, Waclaw J. Kieltyka, Rafal T. Piotrowski, and Hubert E. Wiecek - were all arrested this weekend in Santa Ana, CA on suspicion of kidnapping a woman after a concert in Spokane, Washington on August 31st.

Spokane Police Department spokeswoman Cpl. Teresa Fuller says the woman charging the band members told police just before 2:00 a.m. on September 1st about the alleged kidnapping. The woman attended the Decapitated show in downtown Spokane. According to Fuller, the band members are being held in the Los Angeles County Jail and will face extradition to Spokane.

Steve Graham, the band’s Spokane-based defense attorney, told the The (Spokane) Spokesman-Review that the band members are innocent of the accusations. “There is another side to this,” he told the newspaper. “We have witnesses that can testify to the fact that the accuser came to visit (the) band of her own free will and left on good terms.”

Graham said he told police the band members had offered to surrender but never heard anything back. The attorney said he fears the band members will spend weeks in the Los Angeles County Jail before being returned to Spokane. But Graham told the newspaper the four will not fight extradition and will return to Spokane willingly.

Decapitated’s seventh album, Anticult, is out now via Nuclear Blast. The album has achieved the Billboard chart positions listed below:

Anticult can be ordered here and at this location.

Anticult highlights just how vital Decapitated have remained two decades deep into their career. Decapitated have long been undeniable masters of their craft and they are expanding their parameters with Anticult, which should elevate the band's profile beyond the death metal realm in which it has dominated for years.

"Anticult represents the legacy and future of Decapitated," said guitarist Vogg. "We're extremely proud of the record, in both the song compositions and the production. This is the best representation of our music and we're really excited for the world to hear it!"
