Disgusting! Heavy Metal Dissed Again By Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame

The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame have continued their tradition in snubbing the hard rock/heavy metal community by ignoring obvious bands that have been eligible for YEARS like Deep Purple, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Motörhead Jethro Tull, Yes, Cheap Trick, Def Leppard and Bon Jovi just to name a few. In fact both Deep Purple and Yes were in the top four of fan-voting last year! Yes indeed, metal fans should be pissed!

Nine Inch Nails, The Smiths, Green Day and Bill Withers are among the first-time nominees for 2015 induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Others include Joan Jett & the Blackhearts, The Marvelettes, Lou Reed, The Spinners, Sting, War, The Paul Butterfield Blues Band, Chic.

Joel Peresman, president and CEO of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Foundation says that this year's ballot "represents a broad, diverse group of artists and demonstrates how rock 'n' roll has evolved over the years,” he tells USA Today.

Inductees will be determined by more than 700 artists, historians and music-industry professionals. The public can participate in the process by casting votes through December 9 at the official Rock Hall site Rockhall.com. Their top five artists will make up a fans' ballot, which counts as a single vote.

Artists are eligible for consideration 25 years after releasing their first single or album (no later than 1989).

The induction ceremony will be held April 18th in Cleveland, home of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum.
