DOCTOR BUTCHER - 20th Anniversary Vinyl LP Version Of Debut Album In The Works

Doctor Butcher, the Savatage side-project featuring frontman Jon Oliva and guitarist Chris Caffery, released their self-titled debut and only official album in 1994. It was re-released in 2005 with several demo tracks that had been planned for the band's second album The Good, The Bad, And The Butchered, which never officially saw the light of day.

Caffery has checked in with the following update:

"It has been 20 years since the release of the Doctor Butcher record. We are currently working on a 20th Anniversary vinyl release! What do you think? Yes...I know...I know...new CD... let's just focus on this for now! I think it will be really awesome!"

The tracklist of the debut is as follows:

"The Altar"
"Don't Talk To Me"

"Season Of The Witch"

"Reach Out And Torment Someone"

"Juice"

"The Chair"

"Innocent Victim"

"The Picture's Wild"

"Lost In The Dark"

"I Hate, You Hate, We All Hate!!!"

"All For One...None For All"

Caffery recently commented at length on the Doctor Butcher debut:

"Crazy how time flies. We were both out of Savatage at the time and this record really helped both of us to release some musical and personal frustrations! This particular song we wrote about a good friend of ours that was battling the AIDS virus at the time. I played all of the guitars on this record, rhythm and lead in 3 days! This song I used my Black Fender Strat for the solo… it has a really cool tone. I was also very fond of the 'Roto-Vibe' pedal at the time. Jim Morris engineered this at the legendary Morrissound Studios in Tampa. Criss Oliva had just passed away less than a year before we recorded this CD so there is a lot of emotion in all of our performances as well as a special spirit in the studio."
