As previously reported, due to a weather forecast calling for heavy rainfall and thunderstorm activity, this year's Earthshaker Festival was moved indoors on the established festival grounds. The decision was initially met with negative feedback from many fans, who felt cheated, but ultimately proved to be a good call as the sky opened up on both nights during the TESTAMENT and MOTÖRHEAD headline sets. Had the festival been outside the sets would have been delayed for an extended period of time and possibly even cancelled. The storm that ripped through southern Germany during Motörhead's set caused massive flooding and damage estimated to be several million Euros.
