EDDIE VAN HALEN Talks To Mr. Holland's Opus Foundation - “I Wanted To Give Back To The Community And Especially The Kids In Need Who Wanted An Instrument”

Legendary Van Halen guitarist Eddie Van Halen conducted an interview with the Mr. Holland's Opus Foundation, keeps music alive in schools by donating musical instruments to under-funded music programs nationwide, giving economically-disadvantaged youth access to the many benefits of music education, helping them to be successful students, and inspiring creativity and expression through playing music.

“Music has the power to tap into all human emotions,” Van Halen says. “I can make you feel happy, they can make it feel sad. Bottom line, can you imagine a world without the music? It’s a must. It has to be taught. I wanted to give back to the community and especially the kids in need who wanted an instrument, but didn't have the opportunities that I had. I wanted to donate instruments, because I have so many guitars. Makes you want to cry, it's that emotional for me."
