Japan's ONMYO-ZA, described by one BW&BK; staffer as "for lack of a better term, Japan's thrash pop version of NIGHTWISH", will issue a new album entitled Chimi Mouryou in their homeland on September 10th via King Records. It will be released in Europe at a later date via Gan-Shin.
The tracklist of the album is as follows: 'Syuten Douji', 'Araragi', 'Gashya Dokura', 'Musasabi Ninpocho', 'Kureha', 'Abouzo', 'Hiderigami', 'Shoukera', 'Oni Hitokuchi', 'Doujouji Kuchinawanogoku', 'Tamasizume No Uta', 'Nyoro Nyoro'.
Formed in 1999, Onmyo-Za features female and male vocalists, and although they have been lumped into the Visual Kei scene due to their image, their sound runs from full-on thrash to old school speed metal to pop rock. They have released six studio albums to date, two live albums and live DVDs. Two examples of their work can be found below.
