Former WHITE LION Singer MIKE TRAMP Discusses His Influences - “I Was Raised On Folk Music”; Video

Former White Lion frontman, Mike Tramp, is featured in a new interview with Status Project (video streaming below).

Asked who are some of his influences, Tramp responds, “I grew up on folk. My Mom was heavily into folk, played a lot of Woody Guthrie, Dylan, Roy Orbison, Johnny Cash, of course Elvis Presley. And then later on, I knew that it had affected me, and I especially saw it in my songwriting. Even though I’m known for being the singer and songwriter in White Lion, all these songs were written in the similar way that Dylan or Cash would have written a song, a song you could play around a campfire. And that’s always why I talk about the purity of a song. Once you strip it from all the glitter, the song has to be able to stand by it’s own two legs.”

On February 24th, Mike Tramp will release his 10th solo album, Maybe Tomorrow, via Mighty Music/Target Group to follow-up on his most successful and best selling solo album, Nomad from 2015.

Mike comments on the forthcoming album: “Maybe Tomorrow is my 10th solo album, and twenty years have gone by since my first was released. My songwriting, style and sound is forever cemented in the rock world with Maybe Tomorrow, and there should be no more doubt or confusion, of who Mike Tramp is, cause this is where I stand and this is where I will remain.”

Michael H. Andersen/CEO Target Group: "Having worked with Tramp on and off for 20 years, it warms my heart to witness his brand of rock'n'roll, both music and image wise, is more vital than ever before.”
