FREDDIE MERCURY, ROB HALFORD Among Gays Who Get Respect From Maxim Magazine Russia

The Russian edition of Maxim magazine has given a pass to a list of gay men, including late Queen frontman Freddie Mercury, and Judas Priest singer Rob Halford.

The article, titled Gays We Respect, includes the following introduction (translated from Russian): “We men do not believe men who love men to be men. This is the rule. But there are exceptions. There are gay people who deserve our respect and the right to remain men in our eyes.”

Indiepower TV recently released an audio interview conducted with Judas Priest frontman Rob Halford. During the interview, Halford discusses late Queen vocalist Freddie Mercury, and what he means to the Metal God: “I was listening to Freddie when I was driving in my car yesterday. He still is an inspiration to me. You know, I’ve got a list of singers who really touch me in the purest sense, from the vocal performance as well as just the soul and spirit. So he still does that, he just belts it out with such conviction, and his voice is remarkable. I’ve always thought - when I do a track, even with Priest I’ll think, ‘Well what would Freddie possibly do hear’, you know.” Listen to the interview below:
