GENE SIMMONS Blames Fans For Music Industry's Decline - "They Have Decided That They Should Get Free Music; You're Killing The Next ELVIS PRESLEY And The Next KISS"

During an interview with Planet Rock, KISS legend Gene Simmons offered his thoughts on the slow but steady decline of the music industry, laying the blame squarely on the shoulders of the fans:
Simmons: "This is gonna break your hearts, it certainly breaks mine - I blame the fans. Because the fans have decided en masse - in other words, the masses have decided - that they should get free music, download, fileshare. And you're not hurting KISS; we've been around a long time and we make a good living. You're killing the next Elvis and The Beatles and the next KISS and the next whoever, because you have to give your music away for free.
And who did that? Big corporate entities? No, they didn't do that. Actually, big corporate entities - record companies - gave bands money that they never had to pay back. Ever."
The Multi-Unit Foodservice Operators Conference - better known as MUFSO - is the most comprehensive executive conference in the restaurant industry. This year's event will take place September 20th to 22nd in Dallas, TX. It's just been announced that Gene Simmons, co-founder and frontman of KISS, as well as entrepreneur, marketing innovator and restaurant brand founder, will headline this year’s MUFSO conference as keynote speaker.
Simmons said MUFSO is vitally important to entrepreneurs, senior executives and those looking to up the volume on their restaurant brands because it provides the opportunity to learn, reports Nation's Restaurant News.
Simmons has co-founded casual-dining restaurant chain Rock & Brews, along with KISS co-founder Paul Stanley, with a goal of combining the feel of a rock concert with upscale food and a family-friendly environment. Rock & Brews was named one of NRN’s Breakout Brands in February.
