According to TMZ.com, GUNS N' ROSES mainman Axl Rose recently fired off a cease and desist letter claiming a Los Angeles photographer is spreading lies about him in a vulgar attempt to capitalize on his fame all so she can sell her photographs.

Laura London has an exhibit Downtown called Once Upon A Time ... Axl Rose Was My Neighbor.

Laura claims her main piece - a photograph of a garage door with "Sweet Child O' Die you R 1 of many nothing special" spray-painted on it - is a picture of Axl's garage from years ago.

According to the cease and desist letter, Laura advertised the piece claiming Axl himself spray-painted the garage during a fight with his then wife, Erin Everly.

But the Guns N' Roses frontman claims that statement and the photograph are "outrageous, false, fabricated and highly defamatory."

Laura London's new solo is scheduled to open at Coagula Curatorial Gallery in Los Angeles, CA on September 29th and runs thru October 21st. An opening reception is scheduled for September 29th, 8 PM - midnight, with a press preview taking place that afternoon, 4 - 7 PM.

Once Upon A Time... Axl Rose Was My Neighbor explores the fine line between constructed narrative and documentary, private portraiture and celebrity posing, and, most intensely, melodrama juxtapozed with the all out rock and roll lifestyle.

Ms London explains, “My studio practice explores issues of identity, youth and contemporary culture. Similar to a social anthropologist, I observe people and social situations. My work comes from a combination of personal experience, memory, observation and imagination. ‘Axl Rose Was My Neighbor’ is a docudrama based on an interpretation and depiction of actual events.”
