GWAR Return To The Stage At 5th Annual Gwar-B-Q; Video Of Complete Show Online

The 2014 edition of GWAR's annual Gwar-B-Q at Hadad's Lake in Richmond, VA - now into its 5th year - on August 16th was capped off with GWAR taking the stage fronted by Blothar (Mike Bishop) in place of the late Oderus Urungus (Dave Brockie). Fan-filmed video of the complete show is available below:

The band checked in with the following update following the weekend carnage:

"The 5th Annual Gwar-B-Q is over. Hadad's Lake runs red with blood. We grilled all the bloated, beer-filled Bohabs. The bat-shaped helicopter returned us to Antarctica. We'll have more to tell you soon, so don't die yet.

PS: We found BalSac's crack rock. $leazy had it the whole fucking time."

Dave Brockie, lead singer and mastermind of Richmond-based art/shock-rock metal band GWAR died of an accidental heroin overdose, according to the State Medical Examiner’s Office. The M.E.’s official cause of death: acute heroin toxicity, means: accident.

Brockie was found unresponsive by his roommate in his North Richmond home on March 23rd. Responding police investigators found evidence of heroin use, but the cause of death wasn’t finalized until toxicology tests were completed. Read more at WTVR.com.
