HALESTORM - "They Know METALLICA Isn't Playing, Right?"

Halestorm vocalist Lzzy Hale recently spoke with The Boston Globe about the band's rise to success, their new highly anticipated third album, Into The Wild Life, and touring. An excerpt from the story is available below.

On touring: “It’s really crazy to me — we’re still the same people, but now, all of sudden, people are lining up around the block. It’s, like, they know Metallica isn’t playing, right?”

On working with producer Jay Joyce: "“He was the one guy that was ballsy enough and crazy enough to take on what we wanted to do. We needed to bridge the gap between what people hear at our live shows and what people hear on our records, because it’s so vastly different, and we wanted to err on the side of the human element and the moments of performance.”

Halestorm made a stunning top 5 chart debut in the US with their new album, Into The Wild Life. The Grammy Award-winning band’s long awaited third studio album arrived at #5 on Billboard 200, and #3 on SoundScan’s Top Current Albums chart while also entering their Top Current Rock Albums chart and Top Current Hard Music Albums chart at #1 – marking Halestorm’s highest chart placement to date on all charts. In Canada, the album made its debut in the Top 10 on the Soundscan chart, entering at #7.  This marks the highest one week sales for the group in North America.

Into The Wild Life marks the band’s third studio album and follow-up to 2012’s The Strange Case Of... Recorded last year in Nashville with Grammy-nominated producer Jay Joyce (Cage The Elephant, Eric Church) at the helm.

“Into The Wild Life is not a departure,” says Halestorm frontwoman Lzzy Hale. “It’s an invitation to all things Halestorm.  Lyrically and musically, we explored everything that makes us tick. We set a new standard for this record and gave ourselves no choice other than to be unapologetically ourselves in every way. Peel away at the onion that is our third record if you dare and let us drag you deeper into our world.”
