HEADSTONES frontman and actor Hugh Dillon has won the 2014 Canadian Screen Awards / Shaw Media Award for Best Performance By An Actor in a Continuing Leading Dramatic Role for his role in the Flashpoint TV series. See the full list of nominees and winners here.

Dillon spoke with the Ottawa Citizen back in December 2013 discussing the band's comeback. An excerpt is available below:

The album, Love + Fury, came out this year, and is dedicated to (late songwriting partner) Randy Kwan, who would be happy to hear that it captures the Headstones in all their riff-crunching glory, and swaggers with the same feisty spirit.

Energized by the new tunes, the band has also been playing a few gigs, working around Dillon’s shooting schedule, and not taking on anything they don’t want to. They’re also working on an acoustic version of the band that could be taken to festivals next summer.

“It’s funny how the band has a whole second life,” Dillon says. “It’s like Headstones 2.0. It’s working, we get along. We laugh our ... asses off. We play better, we write better, it’s like nothing changed. Except the revisionist history - we look back at a couple of years and go, ‘Oh, that wasn’t so bad.”
“I’ve always loved music and writing music always comes naturally. So it’s great to be back with the people you do it best with. Those guys are exceptional musicians and we’ve got the chemistry, the excitement.

“As long as we enjoy it and it’s fun and we call the shots, I think we’ll play for the next 15 years.”
