HELIX guitarist Brent 'The Doctor' Doerner has issued the following update:

"We've just returned from the Atlantic Film Festival in Halifax. We performed for the opening gala of the world premier of the new Trailer Park Boys movie at the Halifax Metro Center - what a blast! Long day yesterday though, we had a 32 hour day - slept almost all of yesterday and it's good to be home. Vollmer plays a fag in the movie?!?!?! WOW. He picks up fat Randy while hooking for cheeseburgers.

It was great hangin' out with the cast - Bubbles is one smart business guy, he now owns five night clubs. We got all liquored up - I think we stole the show? The crowd went from almost sleeping to freaking out by the second song. (we only played two songs).

We filmed West Jet throwing our guitars onto the luggage conveyor belt while we waited to board (latches were ripped 'clean off' one of the guitar cases) - interesting too - we shipped them in the 'fragile' section of luggage.

It was red carpet (literally) all the way!"

As previously reported, Helix' '80s line-up have reunited: Brent 'The Doctor' Doerner on lead guitar, Greg 'Fritz' Hinz on drums, Daryl Gray on bass, and Vollmer will be taking this show on the road in October throughout western Canada. Some of these dates will be with the reformed KICK AXE.

The title of the new Helix CD is Vagabond Bones and the band are hoping for a release to coincide with the reunion tour in October.
