HIGH SPIRITS Preparing For Winter Tour; Recording New Album Next Year
November 25, 2014, 9 years ago
High Spirits are capping off a big year with the final leg of its We Were There North American tour, beginning Friday, November 28th and continuing for nine gigs in the southern US.
Bandleader Chris remarked: “The South and Southeast have a reputation among touring bands for the great fans, food, and hospitality, and we have wanted to experience that for quite a while now. It’s great to finally be packing our bags and fine-tuning the setlist in anticipation!”
High Spirits' sophomore studio album, You Are Here, was released in North America by Hells Headbangers in April (High Roller Records released the album in Europe). The album won waves of praise from the rock underground but also made a ripple in the mainstream, notably when NPR aired the track “I Will Run” in their roundup of favorite songs of 2014.
After the upcoming live dates, High Spirits will take a break before embarking on a whirlwind tour of Europe during February and March of 2015, tentatively entering the recording studio shortly afterward for a new full-length album. “We’ll be ready,” says Chris. “As of today, there are five new songs completely demoed. One of them has been in the live set since July! So, I think people should definitely expect a new studio album from us within 2015! In the meantime, see you at the gig!”
