ILSA Signs To Relapse Records, Prepares Split With COFFINS

Relapse Records announces the signing of Washington, D.C.-based Ilsa. The death/crust/doom quintet has been making waves in the underground for the last seven years, and has released four full-lengths and two splits with the likes of Hooded Menace and Seven Sisters Of Sleep via A389 Recordings Contagion Releasing. Ilsa has completed recording of a split with fellow Relapse deathmongers, Coffins. Recorded at Developing Nations in Baltimore, MD with producer Kevin Bernstein, the as-yet-untitled split is currently being mastered by Brad Boatright (Sleep, Noothgrush, etc) and will include one track from each artist. The split will see release via Relapse Records in early January and also features artwork by Ilsa's Joshy.
The band commented on the signing: ”Ilsa is really psyched to be a part of Relapse Records. To be listed among so many great bands is pretty unreal. Hopefully this will help us bring more filth, depravity, devil worship, pornography, drugs, and horror to people all over this rapidly dying orb."
Ilsa will be playing one show this November in Baltimore before hunkering down to write its fifth album.
