IRON MAIDEN Show Forces Stage Expansion For Wisconsin's Rock Fest 2012
July 19, 2012, 11 years ago
Leader-Telegram's Rob Hanson reports:
When Rock Fest organizers say they're expecting the festival outside of Cadott to continue to grow, they're not just talking about healthy audiences. This year, the stage itself will be expanded to accommodate a highly anticipated performance Saturday night by metal legends IRON MAIDEN.
"We actually are adding on 5 feet to the back of the stage and 8 feet to the front of the stage just to fit their set," festival director Wade Asher said. "It's the biggest set we've ever had at Country Fest or Rock Fest, period. Kind of crazy."Other than its mammoth size, Asher was tight-lipped about any of the show's details. Iron Maiden performed at Rock Fest nearly a decade ago, and the current tour may be their last in the U.S.
"It's kind of a surprise," Asher said. "Let's just put it this way: It's going to blow people's socks off."Read more at this location.
