Says TMZ: “We caught up with Arnel at LAX where he shocked us with this news... and when you see it, you'll understand why he's rooting hard for Journey to get inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame next year. They're on the short list of nominees.”
Journey, YES, Electric Light Orchestra (ELO), Pearl Jam, Jane’s Addiction, Bad Brains, The J. Geils Band and MC5 are among the nominees to be Inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame in 2017.
Artists who receive the most votes will be announced in December. The induction ceremony will take place at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York in April 2017, with the ceremony to be broadcast later in the year on HBO.
An individual artist or band must have released its first single or album at least 25 years prior to the year of nomination to be eligible, meaning the 2017 nominees had to release their first recording no later than 1991.
In addition to more than 800 artists, historians and music industry insiders, the public are able to vote again this year. Voting is open to the public at this location until December 6th.
In addition to the artists mentioned above, other nominees include Chaka Khan, Chic, Depeche Mode, Janet Jackson, Joan Baez, Joe Tex, Kraftwerk, Steppenwolf, The Cars, The Zombies, and Tupac Shakur.
