Judas Priest guitarist Richie Faulkner has checked in from the road with the following update:
"Some truly iconic metal moments were captured by our Viking maniacs in Sweden last night! Truly humbled and honoured to be a part of this amazing Priest family and the metal monster roller coaster that is Judas Priest! Some timeless moments were shared last night. There's nothing quite like seeing the Metal God at the end of an ego ramp commanding a Harley, spotlights on him, horns raised and 35,000 amazing metal maniacs as far as the eye can see. Pure metal magic! Photos by @mr_scotttravis @brutalmyth @lundinrasmus @kevin.eriksson.1426."
Faulkner was interviewed by KaaosTV before the band’s show at Icehall in Helsinki, Finland on June 4th. The video interview can be seen below.
Asked if the band have had any serious discussions about their next album, Faulkner replies: “Serious in the sense that we will probably do one, you know, we’ve discussed it. With the Redeemer Of Souls sessions we were coming up with song after song after song. I think there’s 18 tracks on the deluxe version, and I think we had 20 tracks, we didn’t finish two, we had to cut off the writing process. It was really creative. So based on that, I think we’re pretty certain there will be another record. We throw a few ideas around in terms of sounds, or what direction we could go in, and we consider all possibilities. But nothing really locked in at the moment.”
Judas Priest perform next on June 12th at the Download Festival in Derby, UK The band’s complete live itinerary can be found at this location.
