KISS' 1989 album Hot In The Shade, is the first part of a four-CD reissue series by Universal Japan featuring remastering for the first time in a high-fidelity SHM-CD format (compatible with standard CD players). The album, which went gold in the US and platinum in Canada, featured KISS' highest charting Billboard Hot 100 single since 1976' 'Beth' called 'Forever'. The album also featured 'Hide Your Heart' and 'Rise To It'.
KISS' lineup featured: Paul Stanley – rhythm guitar, vocals Gene Simmons – bass guitar, vocals Bruce Kulick – lead guitar, backing vocals Eric Carr – drums, percussion, vocals Hot In The Shade will be available on January 18th, 2012. The other thee albums in the Universal Japan reissue series include Animalize (1984), Asylum (1985) and Crazy Nights (1987).
