According to Redditchstandard.co.uk, Staff from Café Mambo and Rocktave Music Teaching Studios on Church Green East in Redditch, UK, are hosting a musical event on Saturday (June 1st) to pay tribute to LED ZEPPELIN star John Bonham, just a day after what would have been his 65th birthday (May 31st).

Live music will be played throughout the day from 2pm including co-owner of Rocktave Studios, Clem Dallaway, performing acoustic versions of Led Zeppelin songs with his wife Sam, while co-owner Neil Hutton will be outside showcasing drumming displays.

A t-shirt designed for promotional use for the band in the 1960s, donated to the café by John's sister Deborah, will also be displayed in a glass case in the bistro with information about his life.

Bonham was born in the borough on May 31, 1948 and the family lived in Hunt End. At the age of 11 he attended Lodge Park County Secondary School before leaving in 1964.

John tragically lost his life on September 25, 1980 following a day of heavy drinking. Calls have been made for a statue to be put up in the town as a permanent tribute to Bonham. His name has been put on the council's list of potential future street names but has yet to be used.
