Keswick, Ontario-based shredders MANAHAN, featuring guitarist/vocalist Cory Manahan, have been confirmed as the opening band for LAMB OF GOD and THE ACACIA STRAIN when they hit Toronto on January 27th. The show, presented by Inertia Entertainment, will take place at the Phoenix and is officially sold out. Click here for event information (Facebook account required).

Manahan recently unveiled their new single 'If Today Was The Last Day'. It was recorded, mixed and mastered by Michael Borkosky at The Vault / Backroom in Toronto. Check it out below.

Cory recently checked in with the following update:

"The recording process is now done for the new single 'If Today Was The Last Day', it will be released soon. The new direction is the most 'Manahan' sounding ever! I can't wait for everyone to hear it. I had a great time working with Michael Borkosky; he is a genius when it comes to melody, arrangements, tones and especially production."

The song will be available on iTunes soon.

BW&BK; scribe Carl Begai was given an unexpected sneak preview of some of the new Manahan demo material this past summer, and checked in with a brief overview:

"Commence was a strong record, and the demo material is a clear indication that Manahan isn't one of these flash-in-the-pan bands content with spewing out the same material while hoping and praying for a deal. The band has tightened up and refined their sound, the songs are loaded with hooks, there's a bigger focus on the clean vocals and melody in general, but the aggression of Commence remains intact. And, Cory's guitar tones are absolutely outstanding in the same way ZAKK WYLDE can be recognized from 10 miles away. Here's hoping the final recordings retain the grit and identity of what are an impressive collection of demo snapshots."

Manahan released a video for the song 'Narcotic' earlier this year. The track is taken from their debut album, Commence, which is available worldwide through iTunes here.
