Melbourne’s AC/DC Lane Attracting Fans

Melbourne, Australia’s music laneways are attracting fans from near and far, with a new study confirming that they do indeed rock, reports Herald Sun.

The Melbourne’s Music Laneways report found almost a third of people visiting AC/DC Lane were international tourists, while 40 per cent of those in Amphlett Lane were from Melbourne. Crowds flocked to AC/DC Lane, off Flinders Lane, on the day the rockers played at Etihad Stadium last December.

“As part of their experience of going to the AC/DC gig, they were going to AC/DC Lane to have their photo taken with the sign,” researcher Dr Catherine Strong said.

“There were families - mother, father, kids - coming in to go to the concert and the laneway. The laneways let people find new ways to feel like they’re connected to the bands they love.”
