METALLICA Targets Of Concert Hoax In Tucson, AZ (Video Report)

According to a report by the NBC-affiliated KVOA, a Facebook page recently appeared stating Metallica would appear at Joe's Crab Shack in Tucson, AZ on August 7th and 9th. The announcement made the news because the Joe's Crab Shack in Tucson is closed.

The fake Facebook page, which was still up at press time (found here), states "Metallica & Joe's Crab Shack are combining forces to bring you the most Metal show and Buffet to ever exist in the Old West. Metallica will be playing all their albums in entirety. From Kill Em All to the upcoming new untitled album. But wait it's gets even better; there will be an unlimited buffet of crab legs for all concert goers! Also Los Betos will be doing a Golden ticket contest. 5 lucky carne asada burritos will have 1 Golden ticket inside! This Golden ticket holds 4 VIP tickets and your chance to hang out with Metallica!"

Andrea Grey, whose family owns seven Los Betos Restaurants, said they are not connected to any promotion involving Metallica, but employees have reported being flooded with calls at their restaurants.

"They were telling us they were getting a lot of random calls talking about tickets and winning concert tickets that we were supposedly selling or raffling off," said Grey. "I don't know which one."

Metallica has completed the recordings for their upcoming 10th studio album, expected later this year.

Speaking with NBC Sports on June 6th prior to Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Final between the San Jose Sharks and Pittsburgh Penguins, Metallica singer James Hetfield revealed: "We're mixing it now, so hopefully by fall it'll be out and hitting people's ears. We're super stoked about it. It's been a long time coming, and, you know, this is what we do. We love playing, and the next album is exactly what it's supposed to be, so we're excited about it."
