MIKE PORTNOY - "No Interest In Playing A DREAM THEATER Song In THE WINERY DOGS As They Are Worlds Apart Stylistically"

Drum legend Mike Portnoy, who puts in daily appearances on his official Facebook page, recently answered a fan's question regarding The Winery Dogs - also featuring bassist Billy Sheehan and vocalist/guitarist Richie Kotzen - asking "If you had to play a Mr Big tune, a Richie Kotzen tune and a Dream Theater tune, what would you pick?"

Portnoy's answer:

"On our first tour cycle we played:

• Mr Big's 'Shine'
• Richie's 'You Can't Save Me'
• Talas' 'Shy Boy'
• Elvin Bishop's 'Fooled Around And Fell In Love'
• The Four Tops' 'I'll Be There'
• Gary Wright's 'Love Is Alive'

No interest in playing a Dream Theater song in The Winery Dogs as they are worlds apart stylistically, but I have done Dream Theater songs with PSMS and Flying Colors."

Portnoy recently checked in with the following update:

"I will be bouncing back and forth between appearances with Twisted Sister, but I am excited to announce that The Winery Dogs will be making a few exclusive European appearances in June. Excited to be doing double duty w both The Winery Dogs and Twisted Sister at both Sweden Rock Festival and The Graspop Festival. Can't wait!"

Portnoy's summer schedule for Europe with The Winery Dogs is as follows:
