It was reported that SLAYER pulled out of the Monterrey Metal Fest, scheduled to take place on Saturday, September 23rd, 2006 in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico for "personal reasons." A festival insider has issued the following statement regarding the cancellation and has confirmed a new date for the event:

"Ladies and Gentlemen,

Due to Slayer cancelling their appearance at the 2006 Monterrey Metal Fest which was scheduled for Saturday, September 23, 2006, due to them not wanting to share the stage with STRYPER, the festival promoter has decided to postpone the festival until November 2006.

We are looking at Saturday, November 18th, 2006, as the new festival date. The Main Stage line-up for the postponed festival date will be announced shortly.

All 2nd Stage bands are still confirmed for the festival and additional information will be provided in the coming days.

So there ya have it. You can visit the official MMF site by going to www.mmf.com.mx."

Second stage bands include REIGN OF TERROR (Headliner), BLUDGEON, HYDROGYN, BENEDICTUM, DREAMS OF DAMNATION, JADED
