NEWSTED Confirmed For Soundwave 2014

Ex-METALLICA/VOIVOD, FLOTSAM AND JETSAM bassist Jason Newsted, currently fronting his own band NEWSTED, has confirmed he will be bringing his new act to Australia as part of the Soundwave 2014 lineup.
Speaking with May The Rock Be With You, Jason first confirmed that Newsted would be making their Australian debut in “the third week of February 2014,” which the interviewer noted “sounds a lot like Soundwave time”. “It sure does,” shot back Newsted.
He then went on to confirm his involvement with the festival when talking about how the success of the outfit’s brand-new album Heavy Metal Music will affect their ability to play bigger and better gigs:
“Hoping the record does even better and then I get a little leverage for offers for the band for live performances, obviously the Soundwave one was appropriate and we’ve already agreed to that. We got Japan shows I think are going to follow the Australian shows.”
