MÖTLEY CRÜE bassist Nikki Sixx recently took to Facebook with the following:

"Looking forward to STONE TEMPLE PILOTS opening for Motley in Oklahoma (September 13th). Scott Weiland was dragging down a great band. I think they sound fresh and energized again.

Remember kids, opinions are like assholes, everybody has one. Me, you and the man on the moon."

In the clip below, new Stone Temple Pilots frontman Chester Bennington (also LINKIN PARK) and Dean Deleo talk about their song selection as they made a triumphant return to the stage, while Dean talked about re-opening the Starland Ballroom in New Jersey after Hurricane Sandy.

STP recently announced their debut EP will be titled High Rise, and will be released via their own label, Play Pen LLC / ADA on October 8th. The EP features five tracks, including the band's #1 mainstream and active rock radio single, 'Out Of Time.'

STP members Dean DeLeo, Robert DeLeo and Eric Kretz made their live debut with Chester Bennington at KROQ’s Weenie Roast in May. Since their surprise performance, the band has been busy working on new music for the upcoming EP.

“We’re very ambitious about the future of making music,” said Robert DeLeo. “The process and intention of creating it is so much more gratifying.”

From September 18th to October 6th, Mötley Crüe will headline their second residency in Las Vegas, NV at The Joint inside The Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. This series of 12 special shows is now being referred to as, An Intimate Evening In Hell.
