NIKKI SIXX - "The Only Award I Look Forward To Getting Is The One I Will Probably Decline"
January 8, 2015, 10 years ago
Earlier today, Mötley Crüe bassist Nikki Sixx posted the following message on Facebook: "The only award I look forward to getting is the one I will probably decline and that's The Rock n Roll Hall of Fame. It's a fixed old boy network that has lost touch with art, songwriting craft, lyrics and influential music and usually has other agendas at hand. Young bands tell me it's a joke and these bands are the future."
Back on January 2nd, Sixx took to Facebook saying: "Today is my youngest daughter Frankie's 14th birthday. Being a father means more to me than any accomplishment in life I've ever achieved."
Artists become eligible for induction into The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame, situated in Cleveland, 25 years after the release of their first record. Criteria include the influence and significance of the artist’s contribution to the development and perpetuation of rock and roll. Thereby, Mötley Crüe became eligible for induction in 2006, but have inexplicably been overlooked every year since.
Next month, Mötley Crüe will head to Japan for a series of shows:
February
12 - Nippon Gaishi Hall - Nagoya
14 - Super Arena - Saitama Shi
15 - Super Arena - Saitama Shi
17 - International Congress Center - Fukuoka
