OBITUARY - Stage Backdrop Stolen At Holland's Stonehenge Festival; Reward Offered For Return

Florida death metallers Obituary have the following sad news to share:

"This is a post that we hoped would never have to happen but we need to let our fans know the situation and hope that one of you can help us.

Saturday, at Stonehenge Festival in Steenwijk, Holand somebody stole our backdrop. It happened right after our performance while we were packing up our equipment. Here is a photo of it so, if you know who has it or think you might know anything about this please helps us get it back!

Can't describe how important it is to us and it really sucks for the band and the fans these remaining shows to see Obituary without it hanging! Real Bummer!! We are offering a reward to the person who helps us get it back. Please, let us know if you have any information about this.

Email us at fans@obituary.cc."

Obituary vocalist Donald Tardy let the secret spill during his recent chat with Italy's Metal Skunk. "The new album is gonna be called Inked In Blood. The album cover is finished, the master copy is done, the marketing campaign has been set right now. It’s gonna be released close to Halloween, probably the end of October."

Inked In Blood is Obituary's ninth studio album and first full-length in over five years. The band has partnered with Relapse Records for its release.

Self-recorded in April by the band at their own RedNeck Studio in Gibsonton, FL, Inked In Blood was funded by an extremely successful Kickstarter campaign in late 2013.

The group elaborated on the decision to create the Kickstarter campaign and sign with Relapse: "We always knew that our fans were some of the most devoted fans on the planet and they proved it by stepping up, being a part of something new and supporting us with our KickStarter campaign. This was an amazing display of true fan support and we could not be more proud of everyone who helped raise the money to record this album by pre-ordering it, buying all the cool stuff we offered and just being a part of something that we believe will be the way of the future. Now we have teamed up with Relapse Records to have them get this new album out there, in stores and available to the fans world wide. We are very excited about our partnership with Relapse and are looking forward to working beside them with the release. They are a great label and super cool people who have shown us that they are excited to have Obituary on their roster and are ready to push this album to its fullest potential."
