PARADISE LOST / BLOODBATH Vocalist Nick Holmes Discusses Audience Crossover, Musical Output On Radioactive Metal; Audio Streaming

The latest episode of Radioactive Metal is now online. This time they speak with Paradise Lost/Bloodbath vocalist, Nick Holmes.

“Side projects or supergroups can have a limited shelf life. But when the “right time, right place” combination of artists strikes a chord with fans, the project can burn quite brightly. More often than not, the flames extinguish quickly as the main band demands start monopolizing time and energy. Sweden’s Bloodbath remain the exception to the rule. Despite being a side project, the band remains revered and respected in the death metal scene. So much to the point that one is hard pressed to remember that Bloodbath is indeed a project on the side.

We recently sat down with Nick Holmes to discuss how he became the new vocalist, how the band has maintained its high quality musical output, and if there’s any crossover audience between Bloodbath and Paradise Lost.”

Tune in at this location.

After taking a trip back in time with the Tragic Illusion 25 (The Rarities) album and the last studio album Tragic Idol (2012) which entered the charts in over 10 European countries, it's now time for Paradise Lost's 14th studio album. The album will be titled The Plague Within and will be released via Century Media Records on June 1st in Europe and June 2nd in North America.

Nick Holmes comments: "We wanted to approach the new album differently this time by embracing the band's VERY early days. We have written a very dark, yet melodic album, but this time many songs definitely have a death metal edge, which is something we haven't done for a long long time in Paradise Lost."

The Plague Within was produced and mixed by Jaimie Gomez Arellano from Orgone Studios in London (Ghost BC, Ulver, Cathedral, Angel Witch). More details about Paradise Lost's upcoming album will be revealed soon.

Paradise Lost live:
