Pavement Entertainment has signed an exclusive North American distribution deal with MRI, that includes sales and distribution from Sony Music’s distribution arm RED. Megaforce Records are schooled heavyweights of the industry, boasting releases from METALLICA, THE BLACK CROWES, MINISTRY, ANTHRAX and more. RED is home to labels such as Metal Blade, Relapse, Century Media, Victory and more.

Pavement Entertainment's CEO/President, Mark Nawara states, "I'm very excited to announce the partnership with MRI. When I was looking at options, I contacted my old friend Alan Becker (SVP RED) and he suggested that we team up with Missi Callazzo from Megaforce and RED. There is nothing more metal then Megaforce, who are responsible for signing and introducing some legendary metal bands to the world. RED speaks for itself with their dedication to the metal genre. I feel this is the perfect combination and home for the label”.

Pavement’s director of A&R; Tim King comments "This is more of a "homecoming" for Mark and I. Mark having been distributed by RED back in the day and myself having both worked in the RED Chicago office for 5 years and having had my own bands distributed by RED. I couldn't be more excited to have MRI and RED work hand and hand with the artists I am bringing to the Pavement label."

RED’s SVP of product development Alan Becker comments” RED is excited to bring Pavement Entertainment back home where we started and join the great team at MRI for even greater success"

Megaforce’s Missi Callazzo states “ MRI is thrilled and excited to now be involved with Pavement Entertainment. We have always admired them from afar, as they have brought some great metal to the world. Now we get to dig in”.

First releases for Pavement Entertainment will start on January 22nd with a new album from the band HELL OF HIGHWATER, featuring Brandon Saller from the band ATREYU. Also on January 22nd the label will re-issue some of the Driven Music Group titles, who Pavement secured a distribution deal with. Titles will include albums from FLOTSAM AND JETSAM, CROSSBREED, as well as the debut BRIAN "HEAD" WELCH album, Save Me From Myself.

Megaforce Records is an American independent record label which was founded in 1982 by Jon and Marsha Zazula to publish the first works of Metallica. The label is distributed in the United States by Sony Music Entertainment / RED Distribution. The US corporate office for Megaforce Records is located in New York City.

RED, a division of Sony Music Entertainment and headquartered in New York City, is widely recognized as the industry leader in music distribution and artist development. RED specializes in Sales, Marketing, Radio Promotion, and Product Development for more than 60 independent record labels.

Pavement Music was originally formed in 1994 by Mark Nawara and was a premier rock and metal label that spawned releases by CROWBAR, MALEVOLENT CREATION, SCATTERBRAIN, KREATOR, SOLITUDE AETURNUS, GILBY CLARKE, AUTOGRAPH, THERION, THE GATHERING, GOREFEST, and others. In a partnership with Zoo/BMG, the label launched and continued the careers of these and many other artists throughout the decade. In early 2000, Zoo Entertainment was dissolved and Pavement Music was put on hiatus. In late 2012, Nawara has resurrected the label into a new entity called Pavement Entertainment in order to bring back the same quality and high standard of music and career artists.
