Producer BOB ROCK - “I Turned Down PRINCE Three Times”

A new episode of Focus On Metal is now online, featuring an interview with producer Bob Rock as part of their Little Mountain Sound Studio series.
On being asked which artist he had to turn down because of scheduling, Bob Rock states: "I turned down Prince three times. He would call and ask me to come next Tuesday. ‘Why do you do this, no! I can't do that when I'm working with a band. Even though you are Prince and I would love to work with you, you can't do that to other people’.”
Bob also discusses how he got his start in Little Mountain, his relationship with Bruce Fairbairn, what made him take the step from engineer to producer, how he got THAT drum sound, what album in his opinion defines the studio, how he dealt with band members egos and much more.
