QUICKSAND DREAM Return With First Album In 16 Years; Track Streaming

Cruz Del Sur Music has announced the forthcoming release of Beheading Tyrants from Swedish heavy metal journeymen Quicksand Dream on November 11th. The band's first release since 2000's Aelin: A Story About Destiny, is best described as epic metal with heaping portions of doom.

Don't expect Manowar-syle epic metal here though. Rather, imagine a crossover between Sabbath Bloody Sabbath and mid-‘80s Manilla Road. That epic vibe resides not only in terms of heaviness, but also in terms of an atmosphere rife with introspective elements and a sense of impending tragedy. The bass lines assume the role of leader of the dance, perfectly matched by vocalist Göran Jacobson's sympathetic interpretation and by a clever use of guitars, with some great solos and diligent rhythmic work.

It's no surprise that it took Quicksand Dream took 16 years to provide the follow up of Aelin. In some ways Beheading Tyrants is an album from the past; one without the trappings of a band giving in to the urge to follow a specific style's features, but rather to offer something personal to a dedicated audience.
