JUDAS PRIEST vocalist ROB HALFORD has issued the following update:

"Happy new year and best wishes to each of you for a rewarding 2007.

I had a very busy December '06, speaking to global media regarding all new HALFORD and FIGHT releases and this year's new PRIEST release. It was a lot of fun, and a great opportunity to catch up with our media friends and supporters.

On a different note, I turned 21 again on January 6th. 21 years clean and sober. I don't talk about it much, but this blog gives me an opportunity to share the good moment. Most people can handle using in moderation, but I still take each day as it comes and I avoid the temptations.

I recall my first show without a drink under my belt; it was Albuquerque, NM 1986 at the start of the Turbo tour. I went on-stage in a nervous state, but as soon as I started singing something happened inside – personally I felt elevated and elated. My voice came from a new place, and it has since that moment.

On a creative level I am more clear on my musical and business objectives, but more importantly everything else in my life is more focused and spiritually guided. I know there are some of you on the same path and I encourage you to stay the course. For some that are in the struggle I was in 21 years ago; I hope you find the peace that is there for you.

Halford is debuting its new music video 'Forgotten Generation' this month, and I am visiting with more journalists through January and February, as well as completing my work on the upcoming Priest release. I hope you all enjoy the new music and video releases, and thank you for the support you provide me and the members of Halford, Priest and Fight. Speak with you in February.

Love

Rob"

As previously reported, the forthcoming Judas Priest album will be a concept album about the 16th Century French prophet Nostradamus.
