Judas Priest frontman Rob Halford was interviewed on KBAD 94.5 FM radio in Sioux Falls, South Dakota yesterday (June 16th). Video footage of the interview is streaming below.
Discussing Judas Priest’s future plans, Halford says: "More metal. More metal. Plain and simple, more metal. We're making another record right now, which should be ready when it's ready. But this'll be our umpteenth record, hundreds of metal songs later. We have a tremendous treasure trail behind us that we cherish, and we wanna make sure that what we put in front of that is equally worthy. So we take a lot of time in making the best music that we can. But it's exciting to think that not too far from now, there'll be another Priest record on the horizon with some more shows."
Rob Halford will join the Japanese teenage girl pop metal band Babymetal for their performance at the 2016 Alternative Press Music Awards, set to take place the evening of July 18th at the Schottenstein Center in Columbus, OH.
Babymetal announced the collaboration in a Twitter post. They wrote: "Metal God and Fox God will join in July. Babymetal announces AP Music Awards performance with Rob Halford."
Babymetal has taken the world by storm with its infectious brand of pop metal. This year, the band is nominated in the Best International Band category. The APMAs will mark Babymetal's first US award show, as well as their only show confirmed in Ohio for 2016.
Babymetal's Su-Metal states: "I am extremely thrilled that Babymetal is nominated among a great list of other bands for Best International Band. I am above ecstatic seeing how we have been able to connect with our fans from across the globe through our music, surpassing language barriers and just making it to far places all over the world on our tours. I just hope that we, Babymetal, will be able to continue to bring our music to more people worldwide, here on out."
On March 25th, Judas Priest released Battle Cry.
