It was previously reported that some of black metal's elite are set to appear at a special benefit concert for SLAVIA founder and frontman Jonas R. Christiansen (ex-DISIPLIN) who had been suffering from cancer.

Sadly, the benefit concert will now be a memorial show. A message at the event's Facebook page reads:

"We are very sorry to announce that Jonas was found dead in his apartment early this morning (Thursday, November 17th). The benefit concert tomorrow will go on as planned, but now as a memorial concert. More info will follow."

The concert, Algir: Støttekonsert for Jonas R. Christiansen, will be held at the Garage in Bergen, Norway, on Friday, November 18th, organised by friends of the musician.

The line-up on the evening features sets from HELHEIM and GRAVDAL, as well as Slavia themselves. A supergroup line-up comprising Nocturno Culto of DARKTHRONE, Hoest of TAAKE, and Satyr and Frost of SATYRICON will get together for the event to play a special DARKTHRONE/SATYRICON set.

SHINING’s Niklas Kvarforth will appear on stage with Gravdal to perform the track 'Mishandlet' from the band’s latest album Torturmantra.

More information about the concert can be found here.
