East Bay heavy rockers SpiralArms have announced that they will be taking part in the Jason Becker's Not Dead Yet 3. The amazing benefit will also feature Richie Kotzen, Michael Lee Firkins, Ben Woods and more. The event is scheduled for August 30th in San Francisco, CA at The Great American Music Hall.

Jason Becker, a onetime guitar prodigy first known as part of the metal duo Cacophony, was diagnosed with ALS (aka Lou Gehrig's Disease) at age 20, shortly after joining David Lee Roth's band. Although the disease robbed him of his ability to play guitar - and eventually left him both paralyzed and unable to speak - Becker continues to compose music with the help of computers, collaborators, and a system of communication using eye movements that was devised by his father Gary. Proceeds from the evening go towards medical supplies for Jason as well as a trust fund to provide for his future security. Tickets can be purchased here.

A trailer for the movie about Jason Becker's life can be seen below:

SpiralArms guitarist Craig Locicero spoke about being part of this event: "SpiralArms is honored to have been asked to participate in such an awesome event! Jason is a hero to all of us in the band. Originally for his guitar work, before he became stricken by the disease that took away his ability to play guitar or do anything else physically. But even more so for the way he's evolved into the amazing spirit and light he is today. Jason's truly one of a kind and the world is lucky to have him as an example of perseverance. Anyone who thinks they may have it rough needs to watch Not Dead Yet and put things into better perspective. His plight is unique. He needs all of our help for the mounting costs it takes to pay the medical bills that never end.

We look forward to doing our part to help Jason this year. We must thank Jason, his family and his friends for letting us help him in our own way.

Please donate or buy a ticket to the benefit if you can afford to do so. It's money well spent for a genuinely wonderful person."
