Singer Timo Kotipelto (STRATOVARIUS, KOTIPELTO) and his choir from Lappajärvi, Finland have won the first War Of The Choirs competition. In the finals Kotipelto's choir was against the choir of Mikki Kauste. The winner received 40,000 Euros which they would donate to the cause of their choice and Timo decided to give the money to musical activities for the youth in his hometown Lappajärvi.

Timo's choir sang three songs in the final and they were 'You Shook Me All Night Long' (AC/DC), 'Over The Hills And Far Away' (GARY MOORE) and 'I Want It All' (QUEEN).
