Guitarists TOBY KNAPP and Markus Johansson are "midway through" the recording of their debut instrumental collaboration to be issued by Shredguy Records in March of 2014. "A short time ago a fan posted on my Facebook ‘do a project with Markus’, pretty soon Markus leaves a comment ‘I'm down, let's do it.’ So within a few weeks of that we were trading songs and mapping out the direction of the album. Shredguy President Michael McDowell heard some roughs of the recordings and took us on" states Knapp.

Markus is well known for his work in the Chicago based act SYLENCER who's recent album A Lethal Dose Of Truth featured esteemed guests such as guitarist Andy Larocque (KING DIAMOND) and drum legend Gene Hoglan (DETHKLOK, FEAR FACTORY, TESTAMENT, DEATH, DARK ANGEL, STRAPPING YOUNG LAD).

Each guitarist is writing four songs and then inviting the other to guest solo, engage in solo-tradeoffs and add textures to each other's tracks. "Our writing styles are very complimentary towards each other within this current context" Knapp stated.

Knapp also recently announced the formation of melodic speed metal band WHERE EVIL FOLLOWS featuring legendary vocal talent Rick Mythiasin of STEEL PROPHET.

Knapp: "2014 looks to be the busiest year in the music biz for me with ONWARD vinyl re-issues, an Onward DVD, a new WAXEN album finished and coming out on Moribund plus the collaborations with Markus and Rick, I hope to get some touring happening this year, definitely, it's time."
