"Beyond The Rubicon"

Cordell has checked in with an overview of the track "Beyond The Rubicon":

"Here we are, we've come to the end of the lyrical and musical interpretation of the album and the final track; "Beyond The Rubicon".

To somehow tie into the very first music project I worked on, I wanted this to be an instrumental track with voice-over narration. I've always loved voice-overs in songs, particularly ones that fit perfectly with the ambiance and have something profound to add to the song.

The track has a sense of conclusion to it, both in Alan Watts' narration and also musically which has a different feel and sound to it than the rest of the album.

'And as a result of having a false sense of identity we act in a way that is inappropriate to our natural environment, and when that inappropriate way of action is magnified by a very powerful technology we swiftly begin to see the results of a profound discord between man and nature.'

Also in between Watts' narrations, there are some amazing bits of vocal solos done by Seah Maister of the band Sound Of The Sun. We decided to do those vocal solos on a whim, and she improvised on the spot. Turned out amazing!

And so this is it, we've had 9 weeks of track by track interpretations, I do hope that you've enjoyed them and that it gave you a good insight as to the process of what went on during the writing of these songs.

Keep your calendars open this Saturday, May 30th for the album release! Official launch time will be 10:00am PST.

Thank you everyone!"

Cordell recently posted a 30 minute behind-the-scenes look at the production which can be viewed below. For information on Trailight go to this location.
