Update: Despite Food Truck Explosion, MOTLEY CREWS HEAVY METAL GRILL Owner To Open Restaurant In June

Despite the explosion that destroyed his food truck - Motley Crews Heavy Metal Grill - and rocked his Lakeville neighborhood March 6th, Marty Richie is busy with plans to open a brick-and-mortar restaurant in downtown Lakeville, Minnesota come June 1st, reports StarTribune.com.

Motley Crews Heavy Metal Grill, the restaurant, will take over half of the old Ace Hardware building at 20841 Holyoke Ave.; Angry Inch Brewing will be in the other half.

“Lakeville residents have been so supportive of this,” Richie said. “They’re just so beside themselves to get us there. There’s so much demand. They really want this place to happen.”

Equipment has been ordered and is arriving. The liquor license is underway - Richie will make an appearance at the City Council meeting on April 6th, his 46th birthday.

The restaurant will keep the building’s industrial look, with a 25-by-15-foot stainless steel bar as its focal point. There will be booths and high-top tables, a 70-inch TV and a patio on the south side to catch the sun.
