Now former-WARRANT drummer Mike Fasano has posted the following message at his website, www.totalposer.com:

“To my people, the Poser Posse - I regret to inform you that as of 12:03pm, April 2, 2003, I received a phone call from the senior partners of Warrant, Erik Turner and Jerry Dixon. They explained that my contract as the drummer of Warrant has been terminated, for the reason that Jani Lane "really likes the way his solo band drummer plays." Good thing they waited til' after April Fools day, or I wouldn't have believed them!

Jerry and Erik say they never saw this coming, nor did I. As some of you know, Lane has been out on a solo tour promoting his solo record, Back Down To One, with guys from Cleveland who played on the record, not Warrant. He has been introducing his solo band's drummer (sorry, I don't know his name, and neither do Erik or Jerry!) as the new drummer for Warrant. I received a lot of emails regarding this situation and there were rumors that I had even quit the band, and that a few weeks ago, Jani had already replaced me. At this time I knew nothing of this and naturally denied them.

But now I have been replaced. My replacement was news to Erik, Jerry, and me. I just want to set the record straight. I also want to say to all of you, the Poser Posse, Warrant fans, friends, family, and even the Sludgeaholics, who have all supported me over the years, that I had a great few years with Warrant, met a lot of cool people, played a lot of cool places, and got to hang out with other bands that used to be my poster idols, but now are my peers. (That means "YOU" Blotz and Rockett!)

All I ever wanted to be was professional in what was in many ways an unprofessional situation. I didn't know when I got on it that it was a sinking ship, but it was a fun ride all the way, and I was always proud to be the first to get my bucket out and start bailing water when things got rough. I can't say that former Warrant manager Obi Steinman didn't warn me though when I signed on back in January of 2000, saying "Mike - it is what it is."

Anyhoo, all I can say is that if you really love this band Warrant and Jani Lane, no matter who's in the "hot seat" (drum throne) - buy their shirts, go to their shows, and buy their records. I love Jani Lane like a brother, but his personal problems are something I can't save him from. You can't save someone who doesn't want to save themselves. He brought me into this and now has unceremoniously taken me out. I learned that the axe has been looming over my head for the past couple of weeks, and it's been a real drag. I'm glad it's over, and I am thankful Erik and Jerry both got on the phone together with me to tell me.

Thanks - we'll see what's around the corner. Keep checking back to my site, www.totalposer.com, for the latest on what's going on. For now, I'll be able to devote more of my time to Roxie 77 and the $upafacial$, and to my fantastic website. So check back to see what's up in my world!

Regretfully yours, EX-Warrant Drummer/Ex-Dean Martin of Rock and Roll - Mike Fasano.”
