ATOMIC AGGRESSOR - Sights Of Suffering

Atomic Aggressor are a long-running Chilean death metal band, and I mean long-running: their first demo was released back in 1989. And we finally get a full-length debut here, the band giving us 53 minutes of their blackened old-school death (and I mean old-school; think very early first wave of death metal sounds, the thrash still all over the place despite it bearing a different name and vibe); normally, that's a length that gets me bickering and complaining and bored, but given the circumstances here, sure, we'll take it.

And we'll love it start to finish, the death so no-frills, barbaric, and raw that it maintains a level of brutality throughout that is admirable, but also keeps a high level of old-Sodom thrash quality and a touch of South American blackthrash to keep things barbaric and modern, the end result full of sounds of old but combined in a way that is reinvigorating for DM old guards like myself, with a slight stench of fresh wafting out from all the decay.
