BOURBON CROW – Off The Wagon On The Rocks

Horror rock icon Wednesday 13 has reunited with his acoustic guitar pluckin’, sometimes vocalizin’ partner in hillbilly hilarity, Rayen Belchere. This often tipsy, but not quite drunk duo, enter the squared circle under the moniker Bourbon Crow. They don’t need Mexican wrestling masks; they simply pay tribute to Ric Flair in the form of “Nature Boy”.  These alcohol enthusiasts know damn well that wishing upon a star is an exercise in futility, as such they opt to “Wish Upon A Bar”, where they can’t remember January through December. Now three albums deep, Bourbon Crow does for country music what Steel Panther did to hair metal. The music is campfire renditions of crazy but true Johnny Cash and David Allan Coe inspired tunes, with lyrics that bring a smile to your face despite all the unpaid bills.

American fast food restaurant Chick Fil A gets chastised in the most jovial manner for closing on Sundays. “Fuck You” from W13’s 2013 album The Dixie Dead, gets an unplugged outlaw makeover with Daisy Duke results! Who needs wishful thinking when you can opt for “Wishful Drinking”? “One More Round” damn well belongs in jukeboxes from coast to coast cause, “if you think you’ve had one too many, then have one more.” And I’m sure we all agree – “I Hope They Serve Jack Daniel’s In Hell”. Who cares about the devil’s pitchfork when you’ve got that beautiful bottle of goodness situated amongst the fire and brimstone? Bourbon Crow mix funny and country like you’ve never heard before – infectious in the very best way.
