CHILDREN OF TECHNOLOGY - Future Decay

(Hells Headbangers Records)
The intro to the opening title track makes you think something big and important is going on but nope, it's same old same old for Italy's Children Of Technology, now on their second full-length. The band are carving out a great niche for themselves as the Euro answer to Toxic Holocaust, the Motörhead and d-beat sounds combined with the Mad Max (movie, not band!) vibe and heavy old-school thrash/crossover lyrical obsessions making this, if you've got a couple extra hairs to split, the '89 Noise Records Teutonic to Toxic Holocaust's '89 Enigma Records USA. At 29 minutes, the action here is fast and furious, the beat rarely letting up, the only levity coming via the hilarious vocal yelps in tunes like 'Last Sunshine Gleaming'. Anyway, you can split hairs, but this sounds more or less identical to the bands output in the past, yet I find it to be their most enjoyable work yet; past efforts have been fun but a bit dull. Here, the energy is wild and it's go time all the time. Plus, how great of a song title is 'Fear The Mohawk Reaper'?
